SUPPORTING SECONDARY EMERGING PERFORMERS
S.S.E.P
Why choose between school and your passion? Our program lets high school students complete their secondary education while training in performing arts full time. Stay on track with your studies while accelerating your growth as a performer.
From Year 7 onwards, students can follow a clear training pathway alongside their secondary studies. Throughout these years, learners have the opportunity to complete nationally recognised qualifications, including:
Certificate II in Creative Industries
Certificate III in Community Dance, Theatre and Events (over two years)
Certificate IV in Music Theatre (over two years)
This progressive structure allows students to build skills, earn qualifications, and grow as performers throughout their high school journey.
Students can explore a variety of flexible education pathways alongside their performing arts training. Options include:
Homeschooling
Online courses such as Certificate II or Certificate III in General Education
Studying at SIDE while completing your performing arts program
These alternatives allow students to tailor their learning to suit their individual needs and schedules, ensuring they can balance both academic and artistic growth.
Programs at S.S.E.P are highly flexible and tailored to the individual needs of performing arts students. A typical week will vary depending on the student’s age, education pathway, and chosen qualification.
For example, a Year 11 student studying a Certificate IV in Musical Theatre might have a week structured like this:
Monday: ½ day school work, ½ day performing arts training
Tuesday: ½ day school work, ½ day performing arts training
Wednesday: School-based education at home
Thursday: ¾ day performing arts training, ¼ day school work
Friday: ¾ day performing arts training, ¼ day school work
This flexible approach ensures students can balance academic requirements with intensive performing arts training, creating a schedule that supports both their education and artistic growth.
Fees and Scholarships
Emergent Academy understands that performing arts qualifications are a private investment, so we make it easier with flexible payment options. Courses include an enrolment/auspice fee followed by flexible tuition fees, which can be paid weekly, fortnightly, or monthly across the duration of your course.
Students also have the option to access funding support through our provider, Society One.
To ensure opportunities are accessible, we also offer financial hardship and talent-based scholarships, available on application.
Audition requirements for S.S.E.P students align with the qualification they wish to undertake first in the program.
