CUA40520 CERTIFICATE IV IN MUSICAL THEATRE
This qualification is designed for individuals preparing for a career in the world of musical theatre. It is a demanding and rewarding course that extends learners across a variety of genres through both theoretical and practical training in vocals, acting, and dance.
Students are encouraged to apply critical thinking and develop independent performance approaches, pushing themselves to grow as artists. Graduates can move directly into the industry or continue their training with a Diploma in Musical Theatre.
This program is aimed at advanced performers—perfect for secondary school students, school leavers, or those leaving school early to pursue a full-time qualification in line with government requirements.
This course can be studied full-time or part-time, with flexible pathways designed to suit your needs and circumstances.
Two-year option: 2 days of tuition per week
One-year option: 4 days of tuition per week
Training runs across the four school terms, with additional hours required for rehearsals and performances as needed.
Secondary School Students can study this qualification whilst in Year 11 and 12 in a general pathway.
Training occurs on a Thursday and Friday.
Secondary students will also earn credits toward their WACE score, with all SCSA dates met and direct communication maintained between Emergent Academy, schools, and VET coordinators
Like any qualification, the Certificate IV requires completion of set units for certification. At this advanced level, the training is more intensive and demanding, with students expected to perform at a higher standard.

Vocal: Technical skills, performance practice, and aural training
Dance: Musical theatre, partnering, and a range of dance genres
